Hey all, I'm having similar problems after upgrading to jaunty alpha 2. I'm using a dell inspiron 1420n with an intel g965 card. glxgears has a frame rate of around 120 fps, but 3d games show a frame rate of only 5! fps.
It seems that hardware acceleration simply isn't enabled.
