After nearly two months, the problem persists. Just in case it's of some
help, the MS PowerPoint viewer will make a weird 8bit-like sound.

It has been tested with latest updated from 8.10 & OO.org 2.4 and I
can't find any progress at all. Is there any further testing needed that
could help devs?

I consider this bug to be a stopper for many eeepc-like users... which
Ubuntu have as part of its wider audience.

I attach another file for testing purposes.
