I'm afraid not. I gave up on webcams a long time ago. I can't believe it's only affecting me, with a couple fresh installs and a new .kde directory under my belt.
I even pared down my accounts to two (one yahoo and one aim) thinking it might be a problem with having two of each at the same time. Still the same problem. I also wondered if it could be the nvidia drivers, as many context menus and plasmoids are slow with compositing on.
