Public bug reported:

The latest Ubuntu server documentation located at http://help.ubuntu.com
needs an addition. The nfs client instructions don't mention the need
for the portmap package to be installed on the client.

While the current documentation works on a clean install of Ubuntu 6.10,
the mount command can take 3 to 5 minutes before the mount completes.

It is my understanding that NFS uses RPC rather frequently, and the
fallback alternatives take a long time to negotiate when portmap isn't
installed. It took me weeks of searching for the causes of slow NFS
share mounting before I discovered this issue.

I think a comment should be added that mentions that installing the
portmap package on the NFS client machine will help shorten the time it
takes to mount a NFS share.
