Even in Intrepid I still have problems and I even have less than I used to have (see my message from 2007-12-18)
$ lsusb | grep "ScanJet 4100c" Bus 005 Device 005: ID 03f0:0101 Hewlett-Packard ScanJet 4100c $ sane-find-scanner | grep libusb found USB scanner (vendor=0x03f0, product=0x0101) at libusb:005:005 $ scanimage -L No scanners were identified. If you were expecting something different, check that the scanner is plugged in, turned on and detected by the sane-find-scanner tool (if appropriate). Please read the documentation which came with this software (README, FAQ, manpages). The command 'scanimage -L' used to give me more information in an older version of Ubuntu (can't remember which one). The scanner still works with Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP3. -- scanimage -L crashes with HP ScanJet 4100c https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/119819 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
