I use Xubuntu 8.04.1/hardy amd64.
Tonight around 02:00 UTC i downloaded huge hardy update with update-manager
and installed.
During install update asks me what to do with menu.lst and "install
maintainer version" selected
and I agreed. After that, I restarted computer.
System failed to boot due to malformed /boot/grub/menu.lst , selecting any
menu item.
I needed to boot to rescue shell from alternate cd , mount /boot
and to edit items in menu.lst to previous settings to boot system.
2.6.24-23 kernel will not boot computer (It restart system when getting to X)
(I use latest fglrx ATI driver, version 8.12)
