Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Could you try to run the commands in 1) and 2). For both, let us know
the outcome:

1)

$ sudo hal-disable-polling --device /dev/cdrom
# Now check if the messages stop, if not helpfull, execute the following:
$ sudo hal-disable-polling --enable-polling --device /dev/cdrom

2)

$ gconftool-2 --get /apps/nautilus/preferences/media_automount
# When it says "true", try 
$ gconftool-2 --type bool --set /apps/nautilus/preferences/media_automount false
# # Now check if the messages stop, if not helpfull, execute the following:
$ gconftool-2 --type bool --set /apps/nautilus/preferences/media_automount true
