I am gettin this or a few other kernel panics, when I try to boot my "little" server. Unfortunately it occurs even before I get the login prompt - thus the system is unusable. Sometimes the backtrace ends with "fatal exception in interrupt" or "tried to kill the idle task".
## my system: EliteGroup K7VMM+ Mainboard, AMD Duron 1,3GHz, 512 MB RAM software raid1 w 2x80GB /dev/sda1 -> /boot /dev/sda2 -> / /dev/sdb1 -> swap /dev/sdb2 -> /var /dev/md2 -> /dev/sda3 + /dev/sdb3 -> /home /dev/md4 -> /dev/sda4 + /dev/sdb3 -> /srv ## reproduceable: when I first bootet after the installation, I was able to use the system for a few hours before the error occurred. But now I get the error as soon as the services are starting up. ## I tried: booting with nolapic, noapic, nosmp, acpi=off, noacpi und ide=nodma (one at a time), disabling acpi in the bios, disabling p'n'p in the bios. I even installed the latest intrepid-proposed kernel 2.6.27-11 (thanks to the install cd rescue mode), but experience the same problem with that. ## strange: all the live cds I have seem to work just fine. I tried 8.10 desktop, knoppix 5.1, opensuse 11.1 -- Ubuntu server 8.10 kernel panic 2.6.27-9-server https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/312586 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
