Public bug reported: Binary package hint: pulseaudio
On Jaunty Alpha, PulseAudio's Sound Preferences applet has the "Front" speaker volume set to MUTE by default. This is not desired behaviour as a large number of users depend on their front speaker volume being unmuted in order to hear audio. For such users, the current default setting prevents audio from being heard, leading users to believe that their sound system is broken. See forum thread: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1036868 A workaround for this is to (Gnome): 1. Right-click on Sound Preferences applet icon (usually located on the far-right of the top panel). 2. Select Preferences. 3. In the pop-up window, select Front, and click Close. 4. Left-cick on Sound Preferences applet icon. 5. Set volume to other than mute. ** Affects: pulseaudio (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- PA Sound Preferences mutes Front speaker volume by default https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/316199 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
