I tried 2.6.27-11.23smb2 on my lenovo t61, which had brightness broken on -11.21 and -11.22. Brightness controls did not work at all with 2.6.27-11.23smb2; however, rebooting with "option thinkpad_acpi brightness_enable=1" caused the brightness controls to start working once again.
"options video acpi_backlight=video" in /etc/modprobe.d/options just gave me "kernel: [ 14.960104] video: Unknown parameter `acpi_backlight'" in my dmesg output, so I don't think that's an accurate test. I haven't tried rebooting with that option on the command line. Attached is the output of dmesg, grep -r . /proc/acpi/video. and grep -Sr . /sys/devices/virtual/backlight/ for run where I gave the kernel no additional options. ** Attachment added: "kernel-test-2.6.27-11.23smb2" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/21122174/kernel-test-2.6.27-11.23smb2 -- The slider brightness Applet has value inverted after the last update (2.6.27-11) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/311716 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
