I installed the latest intel driver from these repos: deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/intel-gfx-testing/ubuntu intrepid main deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/intel-gfx-testing/ubuntu intrepid main It gave me version 2:2.5.1-1ubuntu5~intrepid (from 2:2.4.1-1ubuntu10).
It still crashed, about 6 hours later, again, while I was copying files through a slow USB 1.1 link. Here are some (relevant) logs: >From /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old: ... space: 131000 wanted 131064 (II) intel(0): [drm] removed 1 reserved context for kernel (II) intel(0): [drm] unmapping 8192 bytes of SAREA 0xf8a6f000 at 0xb7ee2000 (II) intel(0): [drm] Closed DRM master. Fatal server error: lockup _fence_emit_internal: drm_i915_irq_emit: -9 Any idea what that 'space' line wants to allocate (and where)? How do I enable debugging symbols, so the error will be more relevant?
