Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager-pptp
Networking isn't my best suit so I'm going to sketch out the problem and if there is additional information needed let me know. Running Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid) essentially stock, network-manager + PPTP VPN's will allow me to ping and nslookup remote servers over the VPN but I can SSH, RDP, or browse the web over the VPN connection. Using KVpnc this problem goes away but other problems surface. I would prefer to use network manager to manage my VPN connections but that isn't an option at this point. I don't know where to start with diagnostics for this problem but I know that this functionality is automatic on Windows and OS X computers connecting to this VPN. Network-manager-pptp version: 0.7~~svn20081015t024626-0ubuntu1.8.10.1 ** Affects: network-manager-pptp (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Unable to SSH & RDP to remote servers while on PPTP VPN https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/316558 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
