as this doesn't cause disrupt the stability or security of ubuntu. i can't see this getting fixed via -updates, possibly -backports. see the changelog for fluendo-mp3 here https://core.fluendo.com/gstreamer/svn/trunk/gst-fluendo-mp3/ChangeLog i believe 2006-09-06 is the date this was fixed.
