Public bug reported: Hello, I'm using feisty now, but the problem was present in edgy too. The problem is that when usplash has to draw something new (or to delete something) it does not clean the video buffer in which framebuffer images are put. I will give some example because I can't explain very well.
1) after grub, when usplash loads there is a little time in which I can see the bios logo "ASUS" scrambled. 2) in the moment when usplash gives the control to Xorg, I see the ubuntu logo and the progress bar with some horizontal blue dotted lines 3) during the reboot there are some flashes ** Affects: usplash (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- usplash doesn't delete image buffers https://launchpad.net/bugs/75413 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
