same problem.... logitech QuickCam Messenger Communicate does not work under intrepid (kernel 2.6.27-9)
i also had the exact same issue as gusvegabol when trying to use easycam2, no go. the camera is detected when plugged in, but as a microphone/usb device. no video device is created for it. dmesg for when i plug the thing in: usb 2-3.5: new full speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 9 usb 2-3.5: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice lsusb shows: Bus 002 Device 009: ID 046d:08f5 Logitech, Inc.
