The doc says this is incompatible with CONFIG_RTC_CLASS. But in the Hardy config (e.g. /boot/config-2.6.24-23-generic) I see
CONFIG_RTC_CLASS=m while in the Intrepid /boot/config-2.6.27-9-generic I see CONFIG_RTC_CLASS=y It seems that switching from built-in to a module would solve the incompatibility.
