** Description changed:

On Hardy alpha5, nvidia-glx-new generally works and is easier than ever
to configure. However, I have to specify that the monitor on my
notebook is 1280x800 widescreen every time I log in, since Hardy always
boots into 1280x786 - my specified config is not stored. The adapter is
an nVidia 8400M GS, the rest of the notebook is a Sony Vaio SZ650N.
