Hi, I don't use (K)Ubuntu any more and I can't test if the bug is still valid. My understanding is that Ubuntu changed the default behaviour of the text entered in the URL bar. I would not considered it as closed, because the point of the bug report is "web shortcuts are case-insensitive" and what you are pointing is that the default behaviour disables the web shortcuts.
