Does this happen all the time for you? I am unable to reproduce this
issue in Jaunty. Please try troubleshooting the issue by creating a new
Firefox Profile. this can be done by starting firefox from the command
prompt (terminal) or from the run window (Alt-F2)

$ firefox -ProfileManager

Then simply create a new profile and see if you have the same issue. If
you do, please provide more detailed information such as screenshots.
