"messy video with good mouse pointer" - this is the AGPMode issue, it won't be fixed before you file a bug on it.
Please try this: boot from the Jaunty CD adding "text" to the boot/kernel parameters. Log in to the text console and edit xorg.conf to include the ModeDebug option. Then run "sudo Xorg -probeonly". It will flash but come back to the text console, and you can now copy the log to your hard drive or somewhere else. You can also add Option "BusType" "PCI" in the Device section to workaround the AGPMode issue. Or find the right AGPMode as explained on that wiki page... Then you can start X with "startx". -- [RV280 9200se] monitor frequency too high https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/313262 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
