Public bug reported: I'd like to request packaging of Einarc, an unified hardware/software RAID command-line interface and API.
It's available at http://www.inquisitor.ru/doc/einarc/ - Einarc v1.4 is already in project's Subversion, it can be checked out at https://inq.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/inq/trunk/client/lib/einarc The main difficulty is that Einarc is a wrapper that uses original equipment manufacturer's command line interfaces (such as one from Areca, Adaptec, LSI 20320, LSI MegaRAID SCSI, LSI MegaRAID SAS, 3Ware / AMCC, etc). These OEM CLIs are non-redistributable, but they're available as a free download from OEM's site. It's the same situation as with any other proprietary components - we'll have to download, unpack and install them Einarc v1.4 already includes infrastructure for such modules installation and even auto-detection framework to detect which of supported proprietary CLIs are really needed on target host. However, this stuff has to be bound with proper debconf wrapping to make a good solid package for a distribution. Anyone can help me? ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [needs-packaging] Einarc - an unified hardware/software storage/RAID management command-line interface and API https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/320450 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
