On a fresh install that I just did with Ubuntu 8.10 I went to the macro tab and it popped up a warning:
" JRE REQUIRED OpenOffice.org requires a Java runtime environment (JRE) to perform the task. Please install a JRE and restart OpenOffice.org. Please install the openoffice.org-java-common package for this functionality. " At this point it got stuck in a loop where I could not close the popup which is another bug already filed launchpad bug 237029 and has already been sent upstream. I then dist-upgraded my system to current intrepid-updates: no change as expected I then installed openoffice.org-java-common (which installed default- jre-headless): worked completely fine after that... -- So it looks like you may need to move/remove your ~/.openoffice.org2 directory and/or install default-jre to replace the sun-java, but in any case it works fine from a fresh install and not using sun-java. ** Changed in: openoffice.org (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Invalid -- OpenOffice writer crashes with picture properties Macro https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/292199 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
