At least one of the traces had proprietary ATI drivers.
But one thing that's interesting, is of all the reports I've seen  (not that 
many I guess), the machines are running SMP kernels on multi-core CPUs.

I had one of these Eeek! messages just the other week... after a long long 
period of no Eeek!s.
Memtest (even after 15 hours run-time overnight) always gives good results.

Interestingly, I've never had these Eeek messages on my Slackware box.
This Kubuntu box has apps segfaulting at times.

As for running the nv driver - the hangs happen at unpredictable times,
usually you have to wait many days/weeks before the next crash. This
makes running nv driver for long periods a bit impractical.
