According to the alsa-info.sh output your pcm is still muted. Try this command (it probably will give you several lines about invalid card number, but that does not mean it has not worked):
sudo /etc/init.d/alsa-utils reset all And also make sure to have the latest version of the package alsa-utils installed. You can check the version in synaptic or with this command: dpkg -s alsa-utils | grep Version It should at least be "1.0.18-1ubuntu7".
