Disable the GNOME-Login-Sound from session for now, log out, log in. Sounds will be restored, but you will get the distortion issue listed above. The patch fixes both issues. However, the volume is extremely low when running /usr/bin/canberra-gtk-play --id="desktop-login" --description="GNOME Login"
