Stefan: I apparently did something that broke this on my machine as well (last night). I've installed tp_smapi, and it's possible that that interferes with it some how, but I'm pretty confused right now too.
Running the script manually still works (eg: /etc/pm/sleep.d/40wacomCalibrate thaw) and as you said, it is running on resume.
