For those who really want sound I have found a way to get it working (until you log out). Log in, and then start a guest session. Go to System->Settings>Sound and check if there exist an output device. Then log out from the guest session and back into your user. You should now have the device under output. For me, the device was unselected. If it is, just select it and you should have audio.
