Public bug reported: The removal process for the `samba` package requires update-inetd, so it failed the first time, and got stuck in a bad state. I had to manually install the update-inetd package with dpkg, and then I could reinstall samba before finally removing it successfully.
Sooo, samba needs `update-inetd` added as a dependency, or the package needs to be modified so as not to require it. ** Affects: samba (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Samba requires "update-inetd", but not Installed https://launchpad.net/bugs/75772 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
