powerdown after shutdown does not work in 32 bit jaunty (Linux sputnik
2.6.28-4-generic #11-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jan 16 21:57:57 UTC 2009 i686
GNU/Linux) and intrepid as of January 31, 2009, with the Emachines D620
laptop and 1.03 bios. it worked just fine with 1.01 bios. once
upgrading bios, its impossible to get a hold of the older bios for a
downgrade.
the laptop will say its shutting down and halting, but instead of
clicking off, it goes back to the bios screen, restarts the computer,
and if you don't act quickly to shut it off, will enter grub once again.
if you don't catch this problem (turning it off in time) it becomes a
big problem because of heat (inside of laptop bag).
attached are these files:
