Definitely seems to be a driver issue with this hardware. How can we go about finding the maintainer (if such a thing exists) for the kernels "Bluetooth: Generic Bluetooth USB driver ver 0.3"? Comments in the code? Maybe i'll download the kernel source and have a poke about and try contacting them directly to at least bring it to their attention.
