No, Gourmet ships with no recipes by default. We're talking about the ingredient table, which stores all ingredients used in recipes.
As I said before, a test case would require: 1. Download the latest stable package from gourmet. 2. Create a few recipes with ingredients. 3. Upgrade to the ubuntu package. 4. Notice that your ingredients have disappeared.
