  The wlan 802.11n USB adapter branded NetGear not supported by Ubuntu
  8.10 (kernel 2.6.27-11).
  
  Output of lsusb:
  Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0846:9001 NetGear, Inc.
  
  Support for this USB wlan adapter is given by otus driver patched [1].
  There is need to compile a modified version of wpa_supplicant to use WPA
  encryption.
  
  NetworkManager fail to manage the new interface (working).
  
  Log of NM about ath1 interface:
