Please make sure that you have the "intrepid-security" and "intrepid-
updates" repositories enabled.  The first 96* series driver that worked
with the Intrepid Xorg was 96.43.09, which is available in the update
repositories.  The information above indicates you're still using
96.43.05.

The message you're reporting also indicates you're still using the
default version of jockey which had the 96 and older series of drivers
blacklisted.  Again, the solution is to add in the updates repositories
and make sure you're fully updated.

Yes, when Intrepid went live, legacy drivers were not working, but this
has been fixed and 8.10 is fully usable with the drivers in the main
updates repositories.
