The bug still exists! It occurs under the following condition: * resolution change to a lower resolution than that of the point in time when compiz was started
Example: compiz was started when system had a resolution of 1024x768 * switch to a lower resolution (eg. 800x600) crashes the Xserver but: * switching to a higher resolution (eg. 1280x1024) and back to 1024x768 works Steps to reproduce: 1. start Xserver 2. switch to the highes resolution 3. now start compiz 4. switch to a lower resolution This behavior can especially be seen when switching from a dual-head setup back to one monitor (eg. on a notebook) I tested this on an Intel GM965 chipset attached you can find a backtrace of the crash. I hope it is complete. ** Attachment added: "gdb-Xorg.txt" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/22012489/gdb-Xorg.txt ** Attachment added: "lspci_vvnn.txt" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/22012490/lspci_vvnn.txt ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Status: Fix Released => Confirmed -- IBEX: xorg crash when changing resolution and going from Dual head to only laptop display https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/251212 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
