Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ecryptfs-utils

Bug in ecryptfs-setup-private calls bash to do a bitwise-and operation.

Rather, we could use awk here... Something like:
 cat /sys/fs/ecryptfs/version | awk '{printf "%d", and($1 , 0x100)}'
