Also I can confirm this is still present in ubuntu 8.10
2.6.27-11-server.

The motherboard is a "elitegroup 945GCT-D", with build-in Intel atom CPU and 
network controller.
As I am running it as a media server, I noticed it introduced hickups while 
watching movies.
