I also have the same problem KDE 4.1 clean install intrepid yesterday. My laptop's one of the fastest around LG P300
2.4GHz Intel, Geforce 8600M, 2GB DDR2 i have same issues as eugenesan. Simply closing bug and dismissing is counter productive. I'm unable to test with jaunty since nvidia drivers fail to work and just crash KDE once session starts- its fine with kdm and session starts but once ANY window opens it will just lockup until kdm is stopped. which makes me think it could maybe be a driver issue. 1. GUI updates always delayed. 2. Object redrawing takes sometimes a seconds, while garbage is displayed instead of objects in the middle. > For me this is mostly opening new windows. A delay. Also accessing anything on the plasma dashboard is ultra delayed but then is normal speed once its in context. Clicking show dashboard is also ultra delayed taking a few seconds but leaving it is normal speed. Closing windows is also delayed. Usually will display a bunch of garbage and then disappear.
