Public bug reported:

gcompmgr, is a Gnome GUI interface to xcompmgr, it is an anjuta managed
project in C++ with a GTKmm/Gnome2 backend. Through xcompmgr it allows
you to use your graphics card to create effects in your Gnome window
manager. gtkmm2-devel required

URL: http://sourceforge.net/projects/gcompmgr/
License: GPL
Notes: Alpha and Beta releases only; project inactive since 2005; RPM package
available only; Source package not found on the gcompmgr SourceForge page, but
i found the Source Package here (0.21 version):
http://www.mirrorservice.org/sites/download.sourceforge.net/pub/sourceforge/g/gc/gcompmgr/

I made a DEB package out of the RPM package (0.21-2 version) using
alien, available here:
http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/459622/Open%20Source%20Applications/gcompmgr_0.21-2_i386.deb

I uploaded the Source package, mentioned above, to my Virtual Drive,
available here:
http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/459622/Open%20Source%20Applications/gcompmgr-0.21.tar.gz

Please, check if the Source Package is secure, because the origin is not
official.

xcompmgr is available in the Ubuntu repositories, so, would be nice to
have this GUI (gcompmgr) to configure xcompmgr available on the Ubuntu
repositories too.

gcompmgr should be referenced as a recommended dependence when
installing xcompmgr, and xcompmgr should be a obligatory dependence when
installing gcompmgr.
