Public bug reported: Binary package hint: pidgin
On Ubuntu 8.10, amd64 version. Pidgin is version 1:2.5.2-0ubuntu1. If the input box is filled with an unbroken line of characters (I ran into this with an url initially) to the point where it wraps past the first line, and is filled to the point where adding another character would cause the cursor to wrap again (as illustrated in the attached image), pressing the space bar causes pidgin to hang. As seen in top, cpu usage for the pidgin process spikes to ~90-95% and its memory consumption climbs steadily; I observed an increase from ~1% to 15% of 4GB over about five minutes before I killed it. Possibly random notes: -Audio is disabled in pidgin. -Still hangs with all plugins disabled. -'pidgin -d' doesn't show anything abnormal as the hang is triggered. ** Affects: pidgin (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- pidgin hangs on space after unbroken wrapped line https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/327512 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
