Does moving ~/.mozilla to ~/.mozilla.bak help? Does this happen as well under
gnome or any other window manager? (If you're looking for a small one to test
under, "sudo apt-get install icewm", logout, and login under it... you can
uninstall it after you've checked).
If it happens only in KDE:
Is System Settings -> Look & feel -> Appearance -> Colors -> Apply colors to
non-KDE applications checked? If so, uncheck it.
Try playing around with the settings under Appearance -> GTK Styles and Fonts
as well.
If none of those help, you can revert to your previous settings.
