Okay a bit more information. I did a speed test online and the results
were almost identical despite having 2 bars in Kubuntu and 4 in Ubuntu
(I actually had slightly faster results in Kubuntu)

Here is the output of lshw

So it looks to me like it's just a visual thing with knetworkmanager.
Would you agree? If this is the case it's such a minor thing that I'm
not even sure if it's worth marking as a bug.
