I have only used the patch provided at http://packages.ubuntu.com/intrepid/python-visual
but it didn't work and still had errors *Yours* worked Thanks for the info and the patch at http://bugs.debian.org/cgi- bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=455680#12 Indeed exactly that patch was enough to make no errors but even it maked no errors in compilation and installed nice i went to new adventures python is still claiming i don't have Numeric or numarray installed Of course i have previously deleted the old files of bad compiled visual from site-packages and pyshared/ directories BUT when i import visual into python interpreter , strangely i get again the same output: >>> import visual Traceback (most recent call last): File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module> File "/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/visual/__init__.py", line 15, in <module> import array_backend File "/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/visual/array_backend.py", line 50, in <module> raise RuntimeError, "Neither Numeric nor numarray could be found." RuntimeError: Neither Numeric nor numarray could be found. Even with no errors no in compilation AGAIN no results Initially i only wanted to use Vpython in my computer :( and i again i found my self loosing time with no results except learning how to compile, patch ,diff etc little better. -- When i type import visual in the python interpreter i get a RuntimeError https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/329034 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
