Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gcalctool

1/1e1 is reported as a malformed expression instead of being parsed as 1/10
(evaluating
to 0.1 or 1e-1). Variations such as 1.0/1.0e1 also fail. It is necessary to
insert the sign in
the exponent (1/1e+1) even though that is not the common convention.

This is the same problem reported in Bug #220691 but that has been closed due
to lack of information.
