Public bug reported:

Hi,

I have an HP Pavillion DV6000 series (DV6607), with an AMD 64, and
NVIDIA chipset, running Ubuntu 8.10. Right now suspend and hibernate
seem to work without much problem when the computer is connected to the
AC adapter. However, when I'm running on battery, the computer fails to
either go to suspend mode, or come out of it.

So, if I suspend while connected to the AC, disconnect the power, and
then open the lid, the power light goes on, but the screen is dark, and
nothing is happening (caps lock and num lock key are non-responsive as
well). However, if I connect to AC at this point, the computer starts
running without a problem. Similarly, if I'm not connected to the AC and
the computer is running, if I try to suspend, the process starts, and
the screen turns black, but the back lighting doesn't turn off, and the
power light continues on staying on (and the battery runs out fairly
quickly as well).

Any suggestion on how I can approach this bug is appreciated.

Cheers,
Eigenman
