Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: powernowd

I have a HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop with Ubuntu 8.10.

For a long time I have had problems with Ubuntu does not close properly,

I have the applet 'CPU frequency control' enabled so I can control the
CPU freq, but if it is not set to 'Ondemand' when I will shutdown the
laptop, then Ubuntu does not power off the computer.

I can't remove Powernowd, cause Ubuntu doesn't shutdown at any time when
Powernowd is deactivated.
The problem occurs only when the laptop is running on battery.

** Affects: powernowd (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
