Hi there, I have tested your packages (the -ati as well as the -radeon), I installed them both together.
I removed the AGPmode option from my xorg.conf and I observed no crashes when watching movies. But, however, I did see a lag in the videopart of the movies I watched. Every 8 seconds or so, a slight stutter in the video-part of the movie, like a few frames where missing at that point and totem-xine stayed on that moment until it found its next. Watching tv (tvtime) is all ok. So, it's not yet a total "go" from my side.
