Public bug reported:

Test generated an OpenOffice.org Impress document using NeoOffice on
MacOSX and the MgOpen Cosmetica Font. Inserted the "ä" letter (Unicode
U+00E4). This was displayed ok.

Now testing with Ubuntu 8.10 64-Bit, OpenOffice.org 2.4.1 and ttf-mgopen
1.1-3, trying to insert new text into the existing document, again using
the letter "ä", Ubuntu inserts the "Per mil" symbol instead, but only in
some slides. Also, in some slides, "ä" letters that have been displayed
correctly in the past are displayed as "Per mil" now, too.

Strangely enough, when I copy this symbol from that faultily displayed
Impress document and paste it here, it becomes "ä", just as it should be
displayed in OpenOffice.org.

In some of the test slides this error does not occur. I can see no
system in when it occurs and when it does not.

Note that there has been an issue with this character in connection with
this font but I thought this was fixed
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ttf-mgopen/+bug/120209).

Intrepid: OpenOffice.org does not generate "ä" letter correctly and converts
existing "ä" letters to "Per Mil" (using MgOpen Cosmetica)
