With the same kernel and card and comparing dmesg output, after line 597:
parport_pc 00:08: reported by Plug and Play ACPI
we have lines:
[ 8.896482] rt61pci 0000:03:09.0: PCI INT A -> GSI 17 (level, low) -> IRQ 17
[ 8.896490] rt61pci 0000:03:09.0: setting latency timer to 64
which are not present in the output.
This would confirm that the problem relates to card detection.
BTW one characteristic of these cards is that they are inclined to lift
from the pci socket!
