Public bug reported: Running Jaunty, 2.6.28-8-generic. I have never had a problem with my sound card until some update a day or two ago. Trying 2.6.28-7 did not work either.
Here is the output of the ALSA script. http://www.alsa-project.org/db/?f=f2ac7bc6ebbfbbd3fe8c2f0fba3b6f64d072a07c All playback channels are unmuted in alsamixer. I have tried ALSA, OSS, and ESD, and both speakers and headphones. lspci -v 00:05.0 Multimedia audio controller: C-Media Electronics Inc CM8738 (rev 10) Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.
