I'm using Kubuntu 8.10 on my Asus Eee PC 1000H, Asus ships an
application that change the FSB to use less battery power and obtain an
autonomy of ~7.5h, or have more power when you need more speed, the
application is called "Asus Super Hybrid Engine", the same thing should
be possible using eee-control (http://greg.geekmind.org/eee-control/),
there is a bug report for the package inclusion
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/330916). This is very useful to make
battery autonomy longer.
